The exhibition was officially launched last night by the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins. Thank you President for paying homage to Strzelecki! Watch the photos from the truly unforgettable evening and rush to see the exhibition in the Royal Irish Academy!
The President’s Office put together this lovely video to commemorate last night’s Opening Night and the story of Strzelecki.





You might remember the ceremony of unveiling a Strzelecki plaque in Clifden in June 2018? Have a look at the pics and when in Clifden look out for the plaque! The plaque was unveiled by the then Ambassador of Poland to Ireland, Ryszard Sarkowicz and the Cathaoirleach of the County of Galway, Cllr. Eileen Mannion.

Paul Edmund Strzelecki was first officially celebrated in Ireland in 2015 when his plaque was unveiled in O’Connell Street. It was sponsored by the citizens of Poznań, Irish Polish Society, the Irish Culture Foundation (Poznań), and Dublin City Council. Look at the pic and try to spot the plaque when in O’Connell Street!
